  • Wrestling Shoes: Encouraged for all wrestlers. Donated shoes available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Street Shoes: Should not be worn on the mat.
  • Bathroom Use: Youth wrestlers must be accompanied by a parent; remove shoes before crossing the mat.
  • Equipment: Workout equipment is off-limits for youth wrestlers.
  • Clothing: No buttons or zippers; shorts and T-shirts preferred. Hoodies are not recommended.

Behavior & Hygiene:

  • Disruptive Behavior: Timeouts will be given; multiple timeouts may lead to sitting out the practice.
  • Hygiene: Hand washing before eating and showers after practice are mandatory to prevent skin infections. Report any infections or injuries to the coaching staff.

Competitions & Tournaments:

  • Participation: Involvement in competitions is encouraged but not mandatory. Inform coaches if your child prefers to learn without competing.
  • Challenge Matches: May be set up for wrestlers in the same weight class. Exhibition matches will be arranged for those wishing to compete.
  • Tournaments: Offer extra “mat time” and are encouraged, but they can be long and loud. Be prepared for a full day.
  • Clubs: Additional training is available through local wrestling clubs for those seeking more individual attention.

Parent Involvement:

  • Help on the Mats: Parents are invited to help during practice, no wrestling experience required. Younger siblings are welcome to participate in play wrestling or tumbling.
  • Special Needs: Please inform coaches discreetly to set up accommodations.

Communication: Coaches are committed to teaching wrestling responsibly and are available to answer any questions you may have.
